The publishers of the Fish! Philosophy have told us that the workplace should be fun. In fact, a place where it's fun to work is also more productive. However, many classrooms have
become grim places indeed! With so much emphasis on the standards and standardized assessments, children are not happy and therefore not learning. Ask any teacher (beyond about 2nd grade) if their students like school, and they will tell you that they do not!
